Maid Service Now Included
Overnight, we have gone from the type of family who doesn't have a maid service to the type of family who does have a maid service. Yeah, it's weird. Violet and I have been knocking the idea around for a while since her business is really taking off and it has been increasingly difficult to keep the house clean and have any free time together in addition to preparing the house for appraisal, etc.
So, a maid service costs us $20 an hour and we have her coming in once every 2 weeks to clean for about 4 - 5 hours per visit. It's a bit expensive I guess, but damn, this lady cleans the entire time. When she leaves, we have this clean house to maintain for the next 2 weeks. It's really nice. The cleaning crap that only gets done once in a very long while because of other craziness, now gets done every 2 - 4 weeks.
I've always viewed people who have a maid service as those people who would rather just have someone else clean up after them. Now I think many people have it because they are going thru the same situation we are. Basically, your time is more valuable spent doing something else, and the potential for enjoyment of the time is greater than the potential for enjoying the $80 you're going to part with.
We're maid people now. We still don't have a yard crew, because I still love getting out in the yard and killing some plants, dammit.

Dude - that is a perfectly viable reason to want a maid. I would love for someone to clean up after me. That's the dream!

Does this mean that Violet no longer has to go to the park holsterless? That's awesome!
