Mountain Exploded

Yes, it finally happened. The mountain exploded all over the very-near vicinity of itself. Nicely done too. The scientists are all very pleased and are saying things like, "This is exactly what we expected".

This was an actual quote from a local Emergency Management authority when questioned about the possible health risk: "People will just need to be careful about going outside, especially as public health officials have said, the elderly or those with bronchitis or asthma." So, lock down the sickly elderly folks.

The whole event reminds me of the debate last night. Due to a late meeting at work, I only caught the last 45 minutes of the actual debate and a tiny bit of the analyst blathering afterwards. My opinion? Good stuff all around. I had some nice hearty gut laughs at Gee-Dub, watching as he blundered his way thru awkward pauses and stuttered across statements like, "We have to be clear about what we say", and that thing he does where he mucks up that goofy-ass grin just kills me.

Kerry was thoroughly outstanding, precise with his statements, and amazing with his intelligent remarks about the largest issues which the Bush camp has totally hosed over the last 4 years. Has it really only been that long? It feels like an eternity. Kerry verbally bitch-slapped Bush all over the stage and then solidly put to death each Bush "flip-flopping" and "no-clear-plan" accusations. It was frustrating watching Bush sidestep so many direct questions posed by the moderator and then by Kerry. My favorite part of the debate was when Bush prattled on about how Iraq attacked us and how we handled things.... and then Kerry called him on it. "Iraq didn't attack us..." Dubyas response to that little gem was, "I know that Iraq didn't attack us!" (pause) - (look over at Kerry) "I know that." Man, he was pissed. I can't wait for the other 2 debates.
