Apply The Formula
Vi and I watched S.W.A.T. on Friday night. Christ, that was an "apply the formula" movie of near-silly proportions. Not a incredibly awful flick, but I really didn't need to see it, since I've seen the same movie in half-a-dozen other Jerry Bruckheimer produced Hollywood blockbuster movies. The formula gets stale after seeing it get played out for the third or fourth time.
Okay, I'll go ahead and say it. I think the ESB got skunked. We used a hefe yeast strain instead of a regular ale yeast, which might have done it. Not sure just yet. Anyway, the foul-ass buttery off-flavor appeared on very first taste. Suck. We still did the dry hopping, and that seemed to go really well. This batch just might have to be consumed after first having a couple other pints of something else, or a whole pack of smokes or something. Whatever.
We held off on kegging the other two brews because they're both still actively fermenting. So far, it looks like they'll turn out just fine. 2 out of 3 isn't too bad, I guess. Unfortunately, the one that didn't make it is 5 gallons of beer.
