Cheap Beer: Not So Cheap

Misfats show on Friday was awesome. The place it was held at was not awesome, however. Crappy, cheap-ass beer was $4 a glass. This suddenly made it not so cheap, yet still crappy. They treated the prices like you were at an NBA game. We found out Kokanee was selling for a mere $2 a pint, but only during happy hour (literally: 8pm to 9pm, sharp). Misfats went on and rocked the joint to all 10 folks who decided to show up. By the end of their set, the room was half-filled and happily cheering them on. The Iron Maidens came on next. I have never been a Maiden fan, but I know if the original Iron Maiden had a bass player as hot as the Maidens, I would have been in to them. Sadly, they did not, so I was not.

We went to see Sailor's team kick ass all over another little-dude football team on Saturday morning. Later was the barbecue at Dave's house where I stuffed myself silly with tasty, tasty barbecued food. American sushi made it's trial run on our taste buds. American sushi = Totino's pizza, cut in to strips, rolled and cut in to sushi-like rolls, then beer-battered and deep-fried. Better than I had expected, actually. Some more adjustments will be made and the experiment will continue. Chris and I got our asses handed to us by Sailor in Madden too. Mercilessly picking on the old dudes, he insisted on whupping on us while playing the whole game only using his left foot on the controller. Then he gut-laughed and told me to go home. What an evening.

The weekend closed way too fast and nothing got done on Sunday except a hella-lotta football watching. Week 1 in fantasy football was a good one. Now I'm only 15 wins away from the title and trophy. I just hope Portis' knee can hold out that long.
