Oatmeal Stout Brewing
Billy and I got together for another installment of Justin & Bill's brewery hijinks. This time we put together a ultra-heavy oatmeal stout. Bill came up to Vancouver from his drudgery at Salem Law School on a rainy Saturday afternoon a few weeks back. After the boil, we ran it thru the counter-flow chiller and I noticed it was about the blackest brew I've ever seen. I took a hydrometer reading yesterday to see where it's at. Good news: it's finished. The still-unnamed oatmeal stout reads in at 7.4% alcohol and the taster I downed was fantastic. This weekend will be time to keg and carbonate. Next weekend we drink it.
OG: 1.086
SG: 1.029
I've been busy like a mofo with a long list of boring crap I'll get around to boring the crap out of any readers who still wander by. So, you've all got THAT to look forward to.
I have like 4 posts I've started and never completed. It's probably time to either post them or delete them. I can't even remember most of what happened in Vegas anymore, and I'm sure my other posts suck anyway. Design changes are in the air...
