Strawberry Wine
We worked our tails off getting everything ready, and now our beautiful house in Vancouver is officially on the market.
See the listing here (for a limited time, of course)
Weeks ago, we interviewed the agent who sold us the house originally. We hadn't seen her or talked in over 6 years, but we remember liking her at the time and so we gave it a shot. The interview was horrible. She wanted us to price the house $25K below what we felt it should be listed as. She showed us fliers she had made up for other listings, and they were ugly as sin. She also let us know she would be going on vacation for 2 weeks, right during the time we felt was critical to sell. All of these things forced us NOT to hire her and to move on.
The next agent we interviewed was recommended to us by our Portland agent (who is fantastic). After the interview, we hired her on the spot. Top marks for understanding the market we're selling in and for not being a huge douchebag. The following Monday (August 14th), she came over again to sign papers and take photos. By Tuesday evening we had a sign in the front yard, fliers (which look great), and the RMLS listing.
Today we had 2 walk-thrus, which I think is a good sign for being the first day on the market. We hope for even more Thursday, Friday and over the weekend. It's essential that we get the house sold within the next few weeks, so we don't end up carrying 2 mortgages.
I have gotten an average of 5 hours of sleep every single night for the past 10 days, so I'm ready for things to start settling down. The house looks incredible, and I'm proud of the work we've done to it over the years. We're ready to move to Portland.
