Friday Was Funnier
So the Lompoc didn't happen. The drinking was moved to Dot's, over on Clinton Street. Kirsten Dunst brought us drinks, but the whole joint kinda sapped strength. After a while we walked across the street for $6 pitchers of Coors Light and arcade video bowling. The liquoring ensued. Afterwards, I went over to Billy's to catch my first showing of Bad Santa. It's one of those movies I've meant to watch for a while now and just never got to it. Awesome movie.
Several pitchers of cheap beer and a great movie is exactly what I needed before starting off my work weekend. Went pretty well overall, but it was just so damn hot up in my office, I had to leave and go lay on the couch and sweat. I don't know how hot it got to be on Saturday, but I swear my body felt like jerky by mid-afternoon. It was hard to keep properly hydrated, due to Violet loading up the house with tasty snacks and soda for my sugar-laden weekend. Just what a I needed to keep that late-night mind sharp.
I didn't get as much done as I would have liked to. Sunday morning, I came to the realization that what I had determined to get done in one weekend was just not that likely to happen. I had imagined sitting down and having an entire weekend to blast away at code. However, the time I actually had to write code turned out to be more like 10 - 12 hours. This isn't really all that much time, considering that's about how much time I get in 2 days at the office working on code, when I'm not wasting company time by blogging. The amount of code I needed to write this weekend was more in the range of 100 - 120 hours. Superman, I am not. Nor am I a mathmagician. Time to start planning for code writing weekend number two! Maybe I can send Violet and Mia off to the Cayman Islands next time. That'll teach 'em.
