Opening Day
Damn you all for making me want to start a blog. I never have before because I really can't think of much of anything to write on a daily basis that would provide anyone a sense of entertainment. I've been enjoying the reading of friend's blog posts with a growing sense of envy.
I don't have time to write daily and I don't have a damn thing to say worth actually typing. However, I realized this could easily eat 15 minutes of my work day away and that sounds appealing. So, I'm going to give it a shot. Hell, I might even commit to it. Who am I kidding? I'll probably write 10 or so posts and then give it up. Whatever.
I wonder if everyone who starts a blog begins it by writing about why they started it or writes about their ambition to keep it going. I realize I've never read the first post of anyone's blog. So, I have no need to make this entry interesting since it will likely never be read by someone like me. Good deal.
It's Friday and that's the only thing that's got me in a good mood. Actually, it's the beer I plan to consume after work at the Lompoc that has my spirits up. I've dedicated my entire weekend to sitting at home and writing code. I haven't done that for years. There's a bunch of deadlines coming up, so I suggested to Violet (wife) that she take Mia (child) and her friend Stacie on vacation for the weekend so I could get some work done. It's Stacie's birthday this weekend and Violet hadn't bought her anything yet, so she agreed and they made reservations for the weekend at Sun River. Good for them. Enjoy that pool and think of me up in the non-airconditioned home office of mine, typing out code while it's a sunny 90 degrees outside. My decision, so I have no one to blame but me. Hooray!
